Text:
Matthew 22:14 (KJV)
“For many are called, but few are chosen.”
Theme:God is calling many to the marriage supper, to purpose, to holiness, and to power. But only a few press past the outer court and enter fully into His divine presence, prepared and positioned.
I. THE DOOR IS OPEN TO ALL, BUT NOT ALL ENTER IN
Scripture: Matthew 22:2-3 (KJV)
“The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son, And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.”
- Many hear the call but make excuses.- The invitation is real and urgent.
Revelation 3:20 (KJV)
“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock...”
Preaching Point: The presence of God is available, but you’ve got to walk through the door! It’s not enough to stand outside admiring the opportunity.
II. THE ROOM IS RESERVED FOR THE READY
Scripture: Matthew 22:11-13 (KJV)
The king found a man without a wedding garment and cast him out.
- The garment represents spiritual readiness, righteousness, and holiness.
Isaiah 61:10 (KJV)
“He hath clothed me with the garments of salvation…”
Romans 13:14 (KJV)
“Put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ…”
Key Point: You may be called, but are you clothed? Many are near the Kingdom but not clothed in the righteousness required to enter.
III. FEW ENTER BECAUSE FEW ARE WILLING TO BE CHOSEN
Luke 13:24 (KJV)
“Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many... shall seek to enter in, and shall not be able.”
- The chosen are not the perfect—they are the yielded, obedient, and committed.
- 2 Timothy 2:4 (KJV)
“No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life...”
Key Point: Being chosen isn’t about favoritism, it’s about faithfulness!
IV. THE ROOM IS FILLED WITH GLORY
Scripture:
2 Chronicles 5:13-14 (KJV)
“...the house was filled with a cloud... the priests could not stand to minister... for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God.”
- In the room, there is power, glory, and transformation.-
Psalm 16:11 (KJV)
“In thy presence is fulness of joy...”
Key Point: God wants you in the room, not just near it. You were created to dwell in the glory, not just hear about it.
Challenge: Many hear the call—but only a few go in.- God is looking for those who will say: “Yes, Lord, I will answer, prepare, and walk in Your calling.”- Don’t settle for being at the door step into the room!
Say this Prayer:
"Heavenly Father, thank You for the call that still goes forth today. Give us ears to hear, hearts to obey, and a desire to be among the chosen. Clothe us in Your righteousness, purify us by Your Spirit, and empower us to walk in Your glory. Help us not to stand at the door and miss the moment—but to step into the room where You dwell. In Jesus’ name, Amen."
